How far do you need to scrape the coating? My solder will not hold to the board to repair trace.

I assume there’s an IC going back on there? Otherwise this is somewhat pointless repair as the track doesn’t have a via under it connecting it to other layers.
So Id have fitted the new IC tacked the wire to the leg of the IC and then either soldered to the broken track or as there was a via hole put the wire into the via hole before soldering
I’d have also used kynar covered wire so I would need to mess about with solder resist
Can anyone tell me how to fix a small pad that is gone from the 5 pads total that a usb port connected to in my bluetooth speaker that is used to charge the battery ? And what can i use to be a replacement pad , just a random same sized piece of metal or some specific type of metal or what? It is the only thing preventing me from a attempt to solder back on a usb socket/port. It seems such a minor thing that renders the whole relative expensive device useless. But im a noob and have no clear knowledge how to proceed to attempt a fix that if succesfull is also the right solution solving the problem. Plz help anyone!!!
