No need to use flux to desolder.
To what percentage did you set airflow of your hot air gun? Sounds weird. I can set the temperature and “blow power” of the airflow of my Atten ST-862D.

I guess the risk here is that heat gun is so hard to control you risk desoldering all the surrounding chips?
